Monarch Butterflies preparing to migrate By S. LeckieThe 4th annual Tommy Thompson Park Butterfly Festival was declared a success! Native wildflowers and sunny skies flattered the butterflies on a picture-perfect summer day, ideal for celebrating their mighty migration.

Festival goers turned out in crowds, eager to catch a glimpse of a fluttering Eastern tailed-blue or spy on a Monarch feeding on nectar. An estimated 1,500 participants attended guided hikes, visited educational displays and strolled, biked or rollerbladed through the park.

We look forward to seeing you in 2013!
